1. Local Attractions
Farmers’ markets are a fantastic way to get fresh fruits while also supporting local businesses. They generally feature a variety of vendors, so you’ll be able to find something for everyone. Plus, they’re usually held outdoors on weekends, so you can enjoy some sunshine. The City Market is probably the most famous among them around town.
The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art is one of Kansas City’s most popular attractions, and for good reason. This museum features a diverse collection of art from all around the world. There is something for everyone at the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art, whether it be ancient relics or contemporary works of art.
The Country Club Plaza is a must-see while in Kansas City. The shopping and dining area has something for everyone, including unusual retailers, restaurants, and nightlife. While you’re there, take time to walk through the lovely Spanish architecture.
There are other attractions which might be suitable depending on your age and interest, such as local bars, so you’re able to enjoy the city however you like this weekend.

3. Things to do at Night
Kansas City has plenty of things to do at night. Here are a few fun things you can do this weekend in Kansas City, whether you’re looking for something family-friendly or something a little more adult-oriented.
No matter of your orientation, you’ll find fun places to eat all around the city. Start with the cuisine, as Kansas City is known for its culinary dominance, and then you’ll have plenty of energy for the rest of the evening.
For things to do with kids, you can go out on a private tour such as a KC helicopter tour at night and see the city light up just after sunset. Family-friendly evening events this weekend are also an option.
If you’re looking for fun to do with other adults, then you too could entertain a helicopter ride for up to 3 people, or choose one of the local entertainment districts to visit. Some of the most popular entertainment districts for adults now include, 18th & Vine, The Plaza, Westport, Power & Light District, Crossroads District and Martini Corner with other districts such as North Kansas City and Kansas City, KS making their way up the ranks.
If you’re looking for local places to stay, the city also has a lot of different options including B&B stays, Condos & Resorts, and suites. No matter the occasion, you have plenty of options this weekend!
4. Going Out as a Couple
Kansas City offers a wide variety of activities for couples looking to have some fun together. Whether you’re looking to catch a movie, go out to eat, or take in a show, there’s something for everyone.
With so many different kinds of couple activities available throughout the metropolitan, you have several options available for this weekend. For example, if you and your partner are looking to join a Wine & Paint Class, there’s that and many other types of classes that you can enjoy.
You could always ask your partner whether they’re open to going on a couples helicopter tour or if that’s too much to ask, consider the benefits of you two enjoying a couples massage at the local spa. The options are endless, but these are great starting points especially if you’re comfortable with being with your partner for a limited amount of time.
For local date ideas, consider your options available. Viewing contemporary art at a local museum can get boring after awhile and we all know it. This weekend could be the perfect time to try golfing again, or sightseeing around town. If you’re looking for some adventure, consider your options available for local adventures.
5. Fun with the Family

Down for a game of laser tag? The Laser Tag Experience in Kansas City will get your blood flowing as you dodge friends (and foes) in a fight of lasers that you’ve never seen before. You’ll be well-equipped for what the day has in store thanks to the military-grade equipment.
Both adults and children love a good thrill from time to time, and there’s so many family friendly things to do this weekend — it’s not even funny!

If you know a birthday girl/boy celebrating their birthday this weekend, we’d suggest you have them checkout the Birthday Helicopter Package or Birthday Massage Package to enjoy an experience like no other.
Living in the Midwest, you know the weather can change in an instant. When the weather is nice-enough for outdoor fun, you might want to consider the year round fun outdoor activities such as walking at the local parks (or The Plaza!) and going to explore the city’s history and culture.
When you’re looking for some indoor fun, try things such as indoor go karting. In the metropolitan area, you may try Grand Prix Go Kart Racing and race around the track in one of the area’s finest go kart locations. Take a few hours out of your day to really catch up with everyone else!
